EXTRUDED WALLS: TESSEOOATED CUSTOMIZATION
The tessellated wall explores the design space of a novel ceramic customization strategy developed by researchers and students at the Graduate School of Design. The technique involves the automated cutting of clay extrusions that are industrially produced on a state-of-the-art extrusion line.

PROTOCERAMICS: FROM HARVARD TO VALENCIA
The work focuses on three different ways of fashioning the material: cutting, folding and bending. The installation was part of the Trans-Hitos 2015: “Synergies” Show staged at CEVISAMA 2015 in early February.

CERAMIC SHELL
Trans/hitos: Refl ejos (Refl ections), the show about architecture and design as it relates to the world of ceramic tiles, was once again the focus of attention for visitors to CEVISAMA. This time around the indisputable star of the show was the spectacular “Ceramic Shell” installation, a huge ceramic tile roof suspended from the hall’s central pillars.
